democracy manifesto

purpose

democracy manifesto exists to encourage peaceful civic participation, respectful debate, and practical policy discussion. we welcome people with different views, and we expect everyone to engage in good faith.

1) our standards

when participating on this site (comments, forums, emails, events, social channels, or any community spaces we run), you agree to:

  • be respectful — treat others with dignity, even when you disagree

  • focus on ideas, not identity — debate policies and actions, not who people are

  • be truthful and careful — share information responsibly and correct mistakes when you find them

  • stay peaceful and lawful — no intimidation, threats, or encouraging harm

  • keep it constructive — aim to improve outcomes, not inflame conflict

2) zero tolerance content

the following is not allowed anywhere in our community spaces:

  • hate or discrimination — content that attacks, dehumanises, or promotes hostility toward people based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or any protected attribute

  • harassment or bullying — personal abuse, dogpiling, stalking, or targeted humiliation

  • threats or incitement — advocating violence, vigilantism, or harm (including “someone should…” style encouragement)

  • glorifying violence or terrorism — praise, propaganda, or justification of extremist violence

  • doxxing or privacy invasion — sharing personal information (addresses, phone numbers, workplaces, family details) without consent

  • defamation and unverified accusations — alleging criminal conduct or misconduct without reliable, verifiable sources

  • disinformation tactics — knowingly false claims, fabricated screenshots, impersonation, or manipulated media presented as real

3) discussing sensitive topics

we recognise that issues like housing, migration, crime, and public safety are emotionally charged. you are welcome to discuss them here, but you must:

  • use neutral, precise language

  • criticise policy and institutions, not entire groups of people

  • avoid dehumanising labels and stereotypes

  • provide sources when citing statistics or claims

4) moderation and enforcement

we moderate to keep this space safe, lawful, and productive. we may take action including:

  • removing posts, comments, or links

  • issuing warnings or requiring edits

  • limiting or suspending participation

  • banning repeat or serious offenders

  • reporting unlawful threats or harassment where required

moderation decisions consider context, intent, and impact, with community safety as the priority.

5) appeals and corrections

if your content is removed or your access is limited, you may request a review via contact  form
if we publish something incorrect, we will correct it and note the correction where practical.

6) no legal advice

nothing on this site is legal advice. if you need legal guidance, seek independent professional advice.

7) agreement

by using this site or participating in democracy manifesto spaces, you agree to follow this code of conduct.
